Historic Downtown Atlanta Event Venue
Renamed as “Southern Exchange at 200 Peachtree”

Bold American Events transforms iconic downtown space into Atlanta’s premier event facility as it assumes full management of the space

ATLANTA (October 26, 2015) – Bold American Events, Fifth Group Restaurants’ award-winning catering and design company, proudly secures the event management contract of the idyllic downtown event space located at 200 Peachtree Street. Under the leadership of Bold American Events, the historic venue formerly known as 200 Peachtree has been rebranded as Southern Exchange at 200 Peachtree, an ode to its longstanding Southern roots.

“We are very excited to be part of this landmark in the storied 200 Peachtree building’s history,” says Fifth Group Restaurants co-founder and partner Steve Simon. “Managing Southern Exchange will give guests an easy, enjoyable event experience with award-winning catering and design teams all in one venue.”

The rebirth of this event destination comes with the intent of breathing new life into a building with rich history, while still preserving its legacy within the Atlanta community. The brainchild of Bold American Events, the new Southern Exchange at 200 Peachtree concept aims to provide guests with a more streamlined, all-inclusive approach to their event experience, as Bold American Events will manage all aspects from event planning through execution, including all décor and catering needs for all events. In addition to the new venue name, the four unique spaces within the building have been renamed to become Whitehall (formerly the Grand Atrium), The Davison (formerly The Carnegie), Grant Loft (formerly Legends Loft) and Augusta Conference Center (formerly Conference Center).

The 200 Peachtree building was built in 1927, originally serving as a Davison-Paxon Department store. The building later became a Macy’s before being transformed into an event venue in 2010. The nine-story building sits on the corner of Peachtree and Ellis streets, boasting a marble grand atrium, 14-foot-high chandeliers and an 18,000-square-foot ballroom with over 70,000-square-feet of flexible event space. Bits of history are preserved throughout the venue today, including the chandeliers, which are from the Macy’s building in New York City, brought to Atlanta during World War II to help conserve power.

To debut the new Southern Exchange at 200 Peachtree space, Bold American Events will be hosting an event on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 across all four newly renamed venues at the location. The re-launch event will showcase the award-winning design and catering company’s full scope of capabilities as they transform the location into a celebration of new beginnings while honoring the historical importance 200 Peachtree has held in the Atlanta community for decades.

Bold American Events, known for its innovative catering and design services, transforming spaces into unmatched, beautifully decorated experiences for guests, currently manages and operates three venues in Atlanta aside from Southern Exchange at 200 Peachtree – King Plow Event Gallery, Studio 887 and the J.B. Fuqua Rooftop Pavilion.
